Casamigos Anejo, a type of tequila from the renowned brand co-founded by the esteemed actor George Clooney, is a product of meticulous aging and expert distillation. This matured tequila is crafted solely from 100% blue Weber agave that has been left to mature for 10-12 years before being harvested. The agave hearts, or "pina," are then steam-cooked and fermented for an extended period of 80 hours in large vats - twice the duration of most other aged tequilas. Following the double-distillation process, the resulting liquid is typically bottled as the brand's Blanco variety. However, for Casamigos Anejo, the blend is transferred to ex-bourbon American oak barrels where it matures for at least 18 months. First introduced in 2014, this spirited tequila boasts a rich and caramelized aroma and flavor profile with a subtle hint of smoke on the finish.
